What causes a woman to have facial hair?

Is it normal? What is an easy inexpensive way for a woman to get rid of it, if they can? If it is normal (which I heard), then why do so few woman have a problem with it? I guess I can ask the same thing for chest and back hair? What causes a woman to have facial hair?
Some women are more prone to increased facial hair than others usually contributing to hormonal balance. With age, change in hormonal balance can increase the appearance of darker or coarser facial hair compared to when one was younger with finer and lighter hair coloring.

Hormone levels are the biggest contributing factors to any body hair overall. The simplest way for women to remove facial hair is through an over the counter facial hair wax removal kit.

American women are more likely to ';perceive'; a greater annoyance with facial hair and most likely will deal with it as it is our society's standards to be smooth body and little or no hair ALL over. American men seem to be of the same vanity with body hair as well. Especially, if they are fitness buffs who want to accentuate the clean lines of their defined muscle build.

What's abnormal

The disorder in which excessive hair growth is stimulated by androgenesis is called hirsutism. Hirsutism can be accompanied by other changes, such as balding, deepening of the voice and cessation of menstruation. In other words, excessive hair growth is usually not the only symptom of a true medical disorder.

Most hirsutism is caused by overproduction of androgens from one of the two natural sources of androgens in women: the ovary or the adrenal gland.

The most common condition associated with excessive androgen production is called polycystic ovarian disease

Treatments

With PCO, or when the cause is elusive, birth control pills can be used to limit hair growth. The birth control pill works by rendering some of the circulating androgen inactive. Adrenal hyperplasia is treated with a different hormonal antidote.

For women with minimal facial hair, there are a number of options, but all have drawbacks. Temporary solutions such as shaving and depilatories can irritate skin. Electrolysis is costly and uncomfortable, but it does yield results. Laser therapy is similarly costly, and it should be used with caution by women with dark skin, since permanent skin blotching can occur.

The most encouraging development is a cream called VaniquWhat causes a woman to have facial hair?
Some say genes, but I disagree. My Mother had facial hair, her 6 sisters didn't, nor her Mom. I believe it is the amount of testosterone in a female. I have everything both my parents had, Dad's boils, ear hair, dark skin. Mom's cysts, facial hair, etc. A small amount is normal, mine is beyond that, but I've seen worse. Only laser treatments totally eliminate a hair. I had 8 treatments in the past, it worked, but not cheap. Some women will lose the hair after menopause, mine increased. Cheapest is plucking or waxing, neither gets rid of it forever.
it could be genes or hormones, usually during pregnancy woman's hair grow thicker and more often, personally I don't like 2 shave as 4 me it will grow back very thick and fast u can tell that that I have very full strong hair..:P so all the hair from my skin will grow strong, and as it is dark brown also the other hairs will be similar color..:p not that dark but still

anyways I would suggest waxing, if u wax it long enough then the hair will grow back thinner and thinner although there is a problem with waxing face as the skin is more sensitive usually they do a cold wax which can irritate the face and make produce under skin zits at the roots of the hair so pls seek help of a cosmetician

also u could try leaser treatment, of which be aware not always affective and are a lil expensive, it depends on ur body and how it heals itself

if u use special hair killing creams be aware that if u have big pore u can infect them and they will turn a lil purplish depends on the person I guess

On the other areas then face I would recommend waxing, it can hurt a lil especially if ur sensitive 2 it but it also depends on how good the cosmetician or waxer..:P works, ask other ladies if they could recommend a good wax salon where they work good

hope everything goes well
Yes its sort of normal however what really matters is the thickness and the colour. There are many treatments available however they sometimes cause pigmentation. Laser Hair Removal Treatment is the only way to get hair be gone for a long period of time however this is more on the expensive side.

DON'T SHAVE if anything get the hair waxed by a professional and seek medical advice.

Good Luck
The answer to this is genes! This is something that probably runs in your family. Do any of your aunts, mom, etc have this? If they do than that would definitely be it.
you are a mammal mammals have hair

wax it more you wax more you destroy the hair follicles

no it doesnt grow back thicker that is an old wives tale
